Layout Switcher — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 November 2026
Layout Switcher is a Windows utility that fixes words typed in the wrong keyboard layout (Russian ↔ English). This policy explains what the app does with your input.
What the app processes
To recognize a word typed in the wrong layout, the app observes keyboard input on your computer while it is running.
- It keeps only the keys of the word you are currently typing, plus the keys of the one word before it, so that both can be corrected together. These keys are held in memory only and are discarded as soon as you press Space, Enter, click, switch windows or otherwise move on.
- It never records phrases, sentences or typing history.
- It does not read the text of input fields, documents or web pages, and it does not use the clipboard.
- It does not take screenshots and does not monitor which applications or websites you use.
What the app stores
The app stores only its own settings on your computer: the selected second keyboard layout, whether automatic correction is on, and whether it starts with Windows. No typed text is ever written to disk.
What the app sends
Nothing. Layout Switcher does not connect to the internet. It has no telemetry, analytics, advertising, crash reporting or accounts, and it shares no data with the developer or any third party.
Your control
- Turn correction off at any time from the tray icon menu (Enable / Disable).
- Exit the app from the tray icon menu; it then observes nothing.
- Uninstalling the app removes it and its settings.
Children
The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
